cycle tourism
Punjab Bikers Club (PBC) was founded with a clear vision – to transform lifestyles through the power of cycling. What began as a passion project turned into a movement, and today, we witness the results of our hard work as road bikes gracefully glide through the roads of Punjab. PBC, an NGO founded by Abhishek Kashyap is dedicated to promoting cycle tourism in the breathtaking foothills of Shivalik, specifically in the Kandi area. We believe that for cycling to thrive, certain elements are essential: good roads, less traffic, greenery, and challenging climbs. Hoshiarpur, with its pristine landscapes and ideal cycling conditions, stands as a true haven for cyclists.
Hoshiarpur-The Cycling Heaven-Hoshiarpur boasts a unique blend of elements that make it an extraordinary place for cycling. The region is rich in greenery, with a forest range in the Kandi area that preserves nature by prohibiting industrial activity. Villagers here aspire to join the Indian Army, and those who don’t succeed often migrate to larger cities for livelihood, contributing to illegal deforestation. Through our endeavours, we aim to change this narrative and promote sustainable alternatives.
Promoting Cycle Tourism for Rural Employment-The primary objective of promoting cycle tourism in the region is to generate rural employment. We believe that this can be achieved without extensive government support.
